Full-time 7:45am-4:15pm Monday through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:

These individuals are the “first-impression” of the office. This individual is responsible for greeting and registering patients, as well as verifying all patient information and insurance details. Additionally, this professional must collect co-payments, answer calls, schedule patients and provide other clerical support to clinical staff. Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Input patient information
  • Verify necessary physician referrals
  • Collect insurance information
  • Collect co-payments at time of service
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Conduct work in a professional manner with a high level of confidentiality
  • Keep accurate records of payments received
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED:

  • Ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and payment processing
  • Computer experience, with fast, accurate typing skills
  • Strong organization abilities and attention to detail
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional, even in emergency situations
  • Understanding of medical terminology and patient insurance benefits (copays, deductible, out of pocket expenses)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Office environment with little to no exposure to unpleasant or harsh conditions
  • Primarily sedentary work with little physical activity beyond phone and computer use
  • Volume of work can be high depending on the day
  • Close visual acuity required
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs.
