Testicular/Pelvic Pain

The highest occurrence is in men ages 15-35. Approximately ten percent of all men have varicoceles. A minimally invasive treatment is as effective as traditional surgery with less risk, less pain and less recovery time.

It is estimated that one-third of all women will experience chronic pelvic pain in their lifetime. In the past, many women have struggled to receive answers or have simply been directed to hysterectomy procedures. Thanks to advances in Interventional Radiology, there are now minimally invasive options to some of these painful conditions.

Back Pain

Back pain can be caused by many different factors and should first be discussed with a primary physician, chiropractor, and/or physical therapist. Patients may then be referred to AMI for a scan to help locate the cause of the pain. Interventional Radiologists can also perform minimally invasive treatments to further diagnose the problem and, in some cases, provide relief without the long recovery times of traditional surgery.

Joint Pain

Once diagnosed, patients should try conservative therapies such as rest, physical therapy, cortisone injections, and orthopedic inserts. If positive changes are not seen with a few months, patients are eligible for a Tenex consultation. Consultations do not require a physician’s referral.

Migraines & Headaches

Migraines, facial pain, chronic headaches, and trigeminal neuralgia are all ailments that can be crippling for the sufferer. In our SphenoCath procedure, medication is applied via the nasal passages to provide immediate headache pain relief. The procedure, known as a sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) block, takes less than a half hour, is needle-free, safe for all ages, and covered by most insurance and Medicare. Advanced Medical Imaging is the nation’s only Certified Training Center of Excellence for SphenoCath® migraine treatment.
